Technical Analysis
What is Relative Strength Index (RSI)?
A 0–100 momentum oscillator comparing recent gains with recent losses.
The standard 14-day RSI reads above 70 as overbought and below 30 as oversold. In strong trends RSI can stay overbought for weeks, so many traders use 40–50 as support in an uptrend instead. Divergences — price making a new high while RSI does not — often precede reversals.
