Lists cover long stock positions of investors whose 13F is current; options and bonds are excluded. "Value before" is the position's value at the end of the previous quarter. Not included because no recent 13F was filed: Michael Burry.

What a 13F does and does not show. Managers with more than $100 million in US-listed stocks must file Form 13F within 45 days after each quarter ends, listing every long position they held on the last day of the quarter. By the time a filing is public the investor may have traded, and the report leaves out short sales, cash, most bonds, private companies and shares listed only outside the US. Options appear at the value of the underlying shares. Treat these portfolios as a delayed, partial snapshot.

Frequently asked questions

What is a 13F filing?

Form 13F is a quarterly report that investment managers with at least $100 million in US-listed stocks must file with the SEC. It lists each long position held at the end of the quarter, with the number of shares and their market value.

How up to date are these portfolios?

Managers have 45 days after a quarter ends to file, so a 13F shows positions as they stood on the last day of the quarter, made public up to about six weeks later. Each portfolio page shows the quarter it covers and the date it was filed, and pages update when a new filing appears.

Why might a portfolio here differ from what the investor owns today?

Because of the filing delay, and because a 13F leaves out short positions, cash, bonds, private holdings and most shares listed outside the US. Options are reported at the value of the underlying shares, which can make them look larger than the money actually at risk.

Which investors are included?

Warren Buffett, Michael Burry, Bill Ackman, Ray Dalio, David Tepper, Stanley Druckenmiller, Seth Klarman, David Einhorn, Dan Loeb, Carl Icahn, George Soros, Chase Coleman, Cathie Wood, Renaissance Technologies, Lone Pine Capital, Philippe Laffont, Li Lu, Akre Capital Management, Bill Gates, Howard Marks. Each portfolio comes straight from the manager's own filings on SEC EDGAR.
