Stock split calendar
Upcoming and recent splits of US-listed stocks and ETFs. A forward split (for example 3-for-1) gives shareholders more shares at a proportionally lower price; a reverse split (for example 1-for-10) combines shares into fewer, higher-priced ones. Neither changes what a holding is worth at the moment of the split.

Frequently asked questions
What is a stock split?
A stock split increases the number of shares by a fixed ratio and lowers the price per share in proportion. In a 3-for-1 split each share becomes three, so a $300 stock starts trading around $100. Your holding and the company's market value are unchanged; companies usually split to make shares easier to buy after a big run-up.
What is a reverse stock split?
A reverse split combines shares into fewer, higher-priced ones. In a 1-for-10 reverse split every 10 shares become 1, so a $0.50 stock starts trading around $5. Companies often do this to get back above an exchange's $1 minimum share price; fractional shares are usually paid out in cash.
Do I need to do anything when a stock I own splits?
No. Your broker adjusts your share count and cost per share automatically, and listed options are adjusted to match. Your total cost basis stays the same.
Is a stock split taxable?
In the US a split itself is generally not a taxable event: your cost basis is simply spread over the new number of shares. Cash paid for fractional shares, which is common in reverse splits, can be taxable. Check with a tax professional about your own situation.
