What is Enterprise Value (EV)?
Market cap plus total debt minus cash.
Enterprise value is the price of buying the whole business, debts included, and keeping its cash. EV/EBITDA compares that price with operating profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, which makes companies with different amounts of debt easier to compare than P/E does.
