Chart patterns today

Every classic chart pattern in the US market, found after each close.

Our scanner reads the daily and weekly candles of all 1500 S&P 1500 stocks and keeps the best-fitting formation for each — triangles, wedges, head and shoulders, double tops and bottoms, channels, flags and cup and handle — with the level it has to clear and the measured move it projects if it does.

"Away" is the distance from the last close to the trigger line. Targets are the textbook measured move (pattern height projected from the break). Educational research, not a recommendation — patterns fail often, and the newest swing of a forming pattern can still change shape on the next candle.

Frequently asked questions

How are these chart patterns detected?

A percentage ZigZag turns each price series into alternating swing highs and lows. Each of 17 textbook formations is then tested against those swings with explicit geometry rules — flatness, convergence, equal highs, neckline slope — and the best-scoring fit per stock and timeframe is kept.

What is the difference between forming and broken out?

Forming means price is still inside the pattern. Broken out (or down) means the latest close is beyond the trigger line — the neckline or boundary — in the pattern's direction. Patterns whose break has already been given back are marked as failed or dropped.

How reliable are chart patterns?

Treat them as a map of where supply and demand have been, not a prediction. Breakouts on strong volume from well-defined patterns work better; many breakouts fail. Always define where the pattern is invalidated before acting.

Why is my stock not listed?

Most stocks are not in a clean textbook formation at any given time. Only fits scoring above our quality threshold are published, one per stock per timeframe.
